A New Club near the neighborhood? New Bonnie & Clyde’s Lounge takes a shot at shaking up south Charlotte nightlife.

Filling a nightlife void in south Charlotte, an upscale bar with entertainment and rooftop views will debut at Promenade on Providence.

Bonnie & Clyde’s Lounge will hold a grand opening Oct. 13 at 10822 Providence Road, real estate developer Childress Klein told The Charlotte Observer. A soft opening was set for 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Oct. 7, according to the venue’s Instagram. The bar’s owners are familiar in the Charlotte scene. Susan Schall and Gennaro Vitale are owners of the casual American bar Midtown Tavern, which opened in 2020 in historic Cherry, and World nightclub, which opened in 2019 at AvidXchange Music Factory.

Vitale, 54, said he and his fiance Schall live in the Waxhaw area. “Everything closes at 10 p.m.,” he said. Instead of having to drive to uptown, the duo decided to bring nightlife to south Charlotte, targeting people 30 and older. The 1,500-square-foot rooftop space includes fireplaces and TVs, Vitale said. “It’s just a really fun atmosphere,” he said.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT BONNIE & CLYDE’S Bonnie & Clyde’s mixes entertainment and a casual-dining experience: ▪ The food: Under Chef Brett Faldstein the menu includes “a culinary journey around the world,” Vitale said. ▪ The drinks: Specialty cocktails include champagne and caviar, plus mixology twists on the classic martini. Bottle service also is available. Cocktail price ranges from $8-$15. ▪ The entertainment: There will be a mix of DJs and live music. Vitale said expect DJs on the weekends starting at 8 p.m. Expect old-school sounds like jazz and Sinatra before the DJ mix starts at 10 p.m. ▪ Hours: 5 p.m.-midnight Monday-Thursday, 5 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday-Saturday; and 4 p.m.-midnight Sunday.
